Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HYDE-BASED Roberts Transport Solutions has completed the rebranding of its vehicle leet with the purchase of a new 18-tonne DAF CF curtainsider with tail-lift.

The vehicle replacement, bought on contract hire, maintains the palletised freight specialist’s leet at nine vehicles.

While the truck is London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) compliant, the irm, which runs into London on a regular basis to collect from manufacturing customers, is having to “manage” the fact that only half of its leet will meet the Euro-4 emission standard required for the LEZ from January. MD Luke Roberts says that in the current climate, the additional cost of sourcing LEZ-compliant vehicles is challenging. “Like a lot of operators, we run pretty bare to the bones,” he says.

Roberts Transport Solutions is the successor to Robert Transport Services, which was dissolved last year by owners Steve and Beverley Roberts. Son Luke is the director of the new irm.
