IT WAS REPORTED in last week's edttion that at a recent public inquiry, Alpha Haulage Limited's managing director conceded it had been refused an 0-licence and that it had operated illegally, and that he had initially lied to the Traffic Commissioner by claiming the company had not been so operating.
We confirm after investigation that this was an incorrect report of the proceedings, as Alpha Haulage Limited has never been refused an 0-licence nor was it alleged it had operated illegally or that the managing director had lied about is operation.
We regret any embarrassment caused and are happy to set the matter straight and to report no criticism was made of Alpha Haulage Limited's conduct.
