VOLVO IS LAUNCHING Its first interest-free finance package on selected used FL6 trucks in an offer that's set to run until the end of March 2004. The initiative. which applies to hire purchase business on R,S andT-plated FL6s, means firms can take trucks on for as little as £87 a week.says Volvo.
The 1.87/week figure is based on a typical capital cost of £10,000. with an initial 10% deposit, followed by 24 equal monthly payments of £375/month.
Peter Groome, head of Volvo Asset Management, adds: "This will provide our dealers with a competitive opportunity in the used truck marketplace." The offer applies to FL6 trucks with a lull dealer network maintenance history, and can also be combined with Volvo's extended warranty.
Other manufacturers are circumspect about the details surrounding the deal, speculating that there may be a large number of FL6 trucks about to come on to the market.
And while this apears to be the first 0% deal on used trucks. Daf is offering 0% finance for two years of a three-year deal on new 7.5-tonne LFs. "At this end of the market, it's more like van and car sales." says a spokesman. However, he admits to being surprised that more manufacturers haven't taken advantage of low interest rates to offer similar fmance deals.
