A PAY DISPUTE involving drivers who deliver to Marks & Spencer stores has been resolved after negotiations dragged on for nearly a year.

The 60 drivers voted to accept a two-year offer from Joint Retail Logistics, a joint venture between Tibbett & Britten and Exel.

This year's rise. worth 3%, is backdated to I January and next year's rise will he based on the government's retail price index (CM 23 October).

• Another long-running dispute. which involves more than 30 drivers employed byTibbett & Britten, is to be settled by arbitration.

TheTransport & General Workers Union says more than 30 drivers at the site in Scunthorpe want to be represented by the union but the company refuses to negotiate their pay separately from the pay of other workers.

Malcolm Hancox,T& G regional organiser, says negotiations have dragged on since the company began running a contract for B&Q from the site two years ago "Nearly all of the drivers are in the T& G," he says.
