Mr. John M. Dickson-Simpson has been appointed to the newly created position of product planning engineer of the Leyland Motor Corporation. Under the recently appointed director of researcn. Dr. A. Fogg, Mr. Dickson-Simpson will maintain contact between operators and the Leyland Group's design teams and he will act as a clearing house for ideas expressed within the Corporation and by its distributors in planning long-term projects. An ex-apprentice of Leyland Motors Ltd., he returns to the Group after eight years as a technical journalist with Mo/ar Trattspon and Bur and Conch. Mr. T. B. Maund, district traffic superintendent of Ribble Motor Services Ltd. at Blackpool since 1957, has been appointed to a similar position at Preston, where he succeeds Mr. C. D. Parr. Forty years old, Mr. Maund joined Ribble as a clerk on the Frenchwood (Preston) traffic headquarters staff in 1949.

Mr. James Smith and Mr. William Graham have been appointed district traffic superintendents of Ribble Motor Services Ltd, at Blackpool and Clitheroe respectively.

The following appointments have been announced by the Perkins Group: Mr. T. H. R. Perkins has become deputy group managing director. Mr. I. Winstanley has been appointed general manager of the Perkins United Kingdom operating unit. A new international marketing operating unit has been formed, with Mr. G. E. Smith as general manager. Mr. Smith's appointment is effective from December and until then Mr. J. M. Collins, general sales manager, Perkins Engines Ltd., will act on his behalf. Mr. K. E. Woollett is general manager of the Perkins associate and licensee operating unit.
