Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW brand of petrol, selling at prices up to 6d, per gallon less than the more familiar blends is being marketed at about 30 filling stations in the West Riding, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

The fuel bears the name of Jet and the distributors are Jet Petroleum, Ltd., Keadby, near Scunthorpe, Lincs. At present sales are confined to an area north of the Thames and south of the Humber where the company has been supplying municipalities and industrial users for some years.

A fleet of more than 40 large tankers is working at full capacity on deliveries.

The Keadby plant has storage for 11,000 tons of oil and provision is now being made for a further 6,000 tons. The company has similar accommodation at Felixstowe.

Jet" 100," of 98 octane rating, is priced at 4s. 51d.: the standard blend, known as Jet " 90" (octane rating 91), sells at 4s. Old, ex pump. The fuel is drawn from the company's established suppliers in Western Europe and Italy and two tankers are at present on charter.

Some 93 per cent. of British filling stations are tied to the major petrol compard'es. Jet petrol is to be sold only among the remaining 7 per cent.
