Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I-1 A NEW bus station is to be built at

Preston to accommodate corporation and company buses. It will be sited at Tithebarn, not far from the station now used by Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., and will link up with a new road running from North Road, along High. Street and Starchouse Square, to the bottom of Lune Street.

The proposals were revealed by the borough surveyor, Mr. E. Stazicker, when he addressed Preston Chamber of Corn

merce on present and future developments in the town. He pointed out, however, that although a ring road and bus station would be provided, the project would not really ease the parking and unloading problem.

Answering questions. Mr. Stazicker said it had been seriously suggested that the time was not far distant when private cars would be barred from the centre of Preston. Drivers would have to park on the outskirts and travel into lown by bus.
