only the existing 14.6m and 15.65m longer semi-trailer lengths will be considered for the trial.
All existing allocations will be honoured. However, they will expire if not used by the 31 December deadline.
New allocations will be offered on a first come, first served basis and are also open to operators with existing allocations/units on the road.
No single operator will be allowed more than 180 longer semi-trailers or the equivalent of 20% of their current semi-trailer fleet.
The consultation is running until 9 July.
