• Police had a busy weekend in Stocksbridge, near Sheffield, as they escorted a 25-tonne transformer on its six-hour journey from Sheffield to Goole. This was the second part of its journey—the transformer came loose from its mouldings in April (see picture) and has been sitting in a layby ever since. Motorists were warned to expect heavy delays while the load was shifted—and that's just what they got.
