iANSPORT SECRETARY Norm Fowler is continuing to amine possible ways of reduc3 the disruption to traffic used by motorway repairs, cording to Government okesman Lord Avon last week :er he had been urged to rece the mileage of any one sec11 of repair work.
Lord Avon said that considerIle care was taken when )nning motorway repairs to sure that delays were kept to minimum, but practical exrience had shown that reduci the lengths of individual reirs would not, by itself, reduce 3ruption.
Particular emphasis was being )ced on improving the in-mation given to road-users, said and on streamlining trafmanagement techniques.
