• Wigan-based Smiths Shearings, which operates six buses on town services in Telford, is planning to take over Shiffnal independent operator Archway Motors. Smiths Shearings has a small rented depot in Telford, and the acquisition of Archway will give it a more permanent base together with a few more local bus services.
The Archway fleet of 20 secondhand buses is unlikely to fit in with the Shearings fleet.
