Transport Users Consultative Committee hearing his week approves closure A its BarnetbyGainsborough line in Linminshire. The service would call only at BR stations.
This line, together with Doncaster-Gainsborough, came under threat of closure following a year-long review of little-used lines. No bus service will be propdsed for the DoncasterGainsborough route, which already has nine buses a day Mondays to Saturdays, run by three operators.
Trains on the route generally carry only 16 or 17 people, and revenue covers only about 5% of costs, says BR.
