Bob from Sheffield is no exception. With his sleek white vest and wet black nose, Bob, Sheffield RSPCA's longest staying resident, turned out an behalf of the charity to accept a special animal ambulance from local LDV dealer Chatfields of Sheffield. Keeping the pooch company on the day were (from left) Win Briggs from the RSPCA, Lynne Hudson from Chattields and Eric Dilger, RSPCA volunteer home visitor.
The LDV Pilot van will allow the Spring Street centre to take sick animals to the vet and to col lect animals throughout the city. "Our inner city site means we are kept busy seven days a week," says branch secretary Brian Cattermole. And he adds: "The van will allow us to ensure Sheffield's animals receive the very best care and in some cases will save their lives."
Having done his bit. 10-year-old Bob is now looking for space by a warm hearth he can call his own. Anyone who thinks they might be able to accommodate Bob. or any other animals looking for a good home, should contact Sheffield RSPCA on 0114 272 7542.
