MINIBUSES having up to 14 seats could be included in the list of classes of vehicles granted exemptions from the EEC drivers' hours regulations.
A letter has been circulated by the Department of Transport asking the views of interested bodies on the classes to which this exemption should be extended.
Passenger vehicles on test are also being considered for exemption.
These vehicles would normally be driven by workshop staff whose duties would not normally bring them withiin the scope of the Regulations.
