Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

" Safety First" Association, is to address a conference of local authorities in the Council Chamber of the Guildhall, on February 12th. The purpose of the conference is to consider arrangements for this year's "Safety Week," which starts on May 11th. The Lord Mayor of London is to preside.

Amongst those who have promised to speak, in addition to the Duke of York, are the Home Secretary, the Minister of Transport and Lord Brentford. By invitation of the London General Omnibus Co., Ltd., delegates are to-insect the safety-first provisions in the works of the company at Chiswick, prior to the opening of the conference.

A Simple Piston-ring Jig.

A useful little device has recently been marketed by Boneham and Turner, Ltd., of Mansfield, in the form of a simple jig to ensure accuracy in filing the ends of a piston ring in order to obtain the correct gap. As may be seen from the accompanying sketch, an hexagonal stem allows the jig to be held in a vice at a convenient angle for filing. The ring is dropped into a slot and is clamped firmly in position by means of a knurled screw. A second slot at 45 degrees to the other guides the file so that no error can be made in the angle, and the operator has to pure only that the correct amount is filed away.

Competitions for Vehicle Drawings.

The prize drawing and handicraft competitions for 1931, arranged by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London, and the Institute of British Carriage and Automobile Manufacturers, is divided into five separate competitions. One of them is for a working drawing of a traveller's saloon showroom, with lantern roof, interior showcases for, displaying samples, desk and seating accommodation for two or more persons. Prizes of £40, £20 and £10 respectively will be awarded in connection with this competition, which is open to all persons of British nationality. In another competition a tinted, or coloured, drawing of any motor vehicle is required, the

Blackburn Town Council has sanctioned the purchase by the corporation of the bus system worked by the Blackburn Omnibus Co., Ltd., for the sum of £17,500. The purchase includes a fleet of 10 vehicles.
