Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Noda

"Association for owner-drivers and other hauliers" (Estd 1965) £115 a year for full membership or £70 a year for associate membership.

COST

MEMBERSHIP 800 — mostly owner-drivers who work in the

construction industry, but NODA has just launched an associate membership which is designed to attract owner-drivers in general haulage.

ORGANISATION NODA was founded by a group of owner-drivers who worked for Ready Mixed Concrete and felt they needed to protect their interests: "It is our view that the vast majority of owner-drivers in general haulage have no representation at all," says general secretary Mick Binns. "Our association is the best suited to their needs. We understand the job they do."

CONTACT Mick Binns (general secretary) at 12 Broad Green, Wellingborough, Northants NN8 4LN. Phone (0933) 276384.

• Insurance. NODA has just launched an insurance scheme for drivers who lose their HGV licences on medical grounds. Mechanical breakdown insurance is also available for all vehicles less than two years old.

*Death grant. A sum of £500 will be paid to any bereaved partner.

*Discounts on tyres.

*Advice on legislation.
