NEARLY 4,000,000 motorists visited the National Forests of the United States last year, and a further 1,000,000 toured the National Parks. Many of these tourists, of course, went in their own cars; but, nevertheless, there is a growing tendency for visitors to reside in neighbouring hotels, whence services of motor coaches make the round of the adjacent beauty-spots.

At the other end of the Republic tourists are offered the opportunity of seeing the beauties of the Columbia River by similar means. Other famous spots in the United States served by motor coach are the Glacier, Yosemite, and Rainier National Parks, the Niagara Falls, and the Californian Riviera.
