I recently learned from one of the country's largest transport organizations that, owing to lack of storage space, they had disposed of a large collection of photographs going back many years.
This is one of a number of instances where whole blocks of transport history has been suddenly and permanently lost.
Many serious transport enthusiasts and societies would benefit from these pictures if only they had known. I should like to urge any transport firms or trade journals who are planning to dispose of old pictures and records to announce the fact or get in touch with myself or the Commercial Vehicle and Road Transport Club.
