High-pressure gas cylinders, weighing one-third the weight of those being produced in this country, were stated, in our issue dated July 23, to be available in Germany. We learn that a British company, Light Gas Container Patents, Ltd., 59, Mansfield House, 376, Strand, London, W.C.2, has now been formed for the purpose of producing in England high-pressure gas cyliaclers which will weigh one quarter. the .weight of the ordinary Britishmade type.

Made of a special alloy, these cylinders are claimed to have a working pressure of 3,000 lb. per sq. in., and a bursting pressure of over 6,000 113: per sq. in. With a gas capacity of 105 cubic ft., they are 8 ft. long and 4 ins. in diameter,, whilst the weight is only 22 lb.
