Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Daf cab looks a bit wider from the outside than the other cabs in this test, and once you're inside there's no shortage of space for the driver. There's plenty of room behind the wheel but all controls are within easy reach. The driver's seat sits fine, although some more legroom would have been appreciated.

Spending a night in a Super Space Cab is something a truck driver should look forward to. There's more than enough space between the two seats to move around, so changing clothes is as easy as it is at home. The 145mm-thick lower bunk is comfortable and, at 820mm, particularly wide. There's no question of knocking against the seats or rear wall of the cab. Unfortunately Daf does not provide the driver with a pillow.

On the rear wall of the cab next to the lower bunk is a control panel with buttons for the heater and interior lights. It also has a reading light, but the beam is inadequate to read by and there isn't much adjustment. The heater can be switched on and off on the control panel but the main switch is positioned in the dashboard, so you'd better decide before going to sleep if you want to use the heater during the night, otherwise you might find yourself reaching for the dashboard to find the switch.

If it's a warm night you might be leaning over to the dashboard in any

case, because the button for the sunroof Is situated in the dashboard and is not duplicated in the control panel.

The Daf has everything you need for a good night's sleep, but there's a fair chance that you'll wake with the dawn because the curtains (which are easy to use and made of good quality fabric) aren't thick enough to be opaque, and more light comes in via the two plastic panels in the roof.

When designing the XF cab, Daf interviewed lots of drivers to ask their views of what a modern cab should be like. Sitting, sleeping and looking around in this cab leads us to conclude that Daf listened, and turned their suggestions into reality.
