Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SALES OF new commercial vehicles in the UK last month were the highest March figures since 1973, according to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

At 27,066, commercial vehicle sales were nearly a third greater than in March last year. British-built vehicles made most headway and reduced the market share of imported commercial vehicles from 24.7 per cent in March 1978 to 21.2 per cent last month.

In the lorry and articulated vehicle market, the British manufacturers enjoying most success were Ford, Bedford and Foden, all increasing their sales by 50 per cent or more over last March's figures.

In the van sector of the commercial vehicle market, British vehicles again showed bigger sales increases than imported models. Once again Bedford and Ford made most of the running.

More imported vans were sold last month compared with March 1978, although their market share fell. Fiat van sales in particular fell by about 60 per cent last month in comparison to March the previous year.
