• Foden is the first UK truck manufacturer to offer Cummins' low emission Euro-1 14-litre engine (CM 17-23 Sept). The N380 will be offered in 4000 Series models which will be badged 4380. Orders are being taken for delivery in January, making Foden the first UK manufacturer to offer Euro-1 standard trucks.
The N380 engine develops 283kW (379hp) at 1,900rpm; Foden has opted for the lower torque option, with 1,729Nm (1,275Ibft) on tap at 1,200rpm. It features Step Timing Control (STC), the mechanical variable fuel injection system from the more powerful M410.
A 4380 6x2 tractive unit will debut at the Scottish IRTE show this week. With a full air management kit and Hi-Line cab Foden claims a kerbweight of 7,590kg, with a full fuel tank. 0 Seddon Atkinson will display its new T5 17-tonner with the Euro-1 Cummins B210 at the Scottish IRTE show.
