Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AT an executive committee meeting of the RI-IA on Wednesday, a resolution from the Birmingham sub-area requested that the Minister of Labour be asked to initiate an inquiry into the labour problems in the Midlands.

In view of reports that discussions on these problems were taking place at national level with the TGWU, the committee felt that results of the discussions should be examined first.

A report to this _effect was made to the national council which met yesterday (Thursday).

The executive committee also discussed the proposed draft of the new C. and U. Regulations and noted that the Ministry proposes that after January I, 1967, new tractors will not be permitted to draw old trailers that are not built to the new requirements.

It was decided to make a strong protest to the Ministry on this point. emphasizing that the proposal would greatly disrupt interchangeability of tractors and trailers.
