Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE British Transport Commission published on Wednesday the special list of transport units for sale in Scotland which was foreshadowed in The Commercial Motor on August 6. Since the plan for disposal in Scotland was first announced, the list has been slightly altered.

List 8, comprising about 3,000 Vehicles, will be published on November 3. Some 2,500 of the vehicles will be offered in units of four or fewer. Nearly all will be vehicles that have already been put up for sate, but have failed to find buyers.

Vehicles being re-offered will be grouped into new units, mostly smaller than previously, and it is thought that they will be more attractive to tenderers.

The date of publication of List 8 has been postponed from October 13 until November 3 to allow as many vehicles and units as possible to be included.

Tenders for the Special Scottish List, which comprises 1,234 vehicles, 127 trailers, 164 additional vehicles and 93 additional trailers, in 49 units, must be submitted by November 10. Originally, 46 units were planned.

In the draft list, units 4500, 4508, 4509 and 4510 were offered for sale by private treaty. In the new list it is stated that negotiations are in progress to sell units 4508 and 4510 as going concerns under Section 5 of the Transport Act. 1953.
