Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IVECO

Daily 35C12

The lveco Daily 35C12 may not look very different from its competitors, but it is quite noticeable that this model is derived from a truck and not a van.

When running empty it lacks the slightly skittish feel of some of the van-derived models, yet at the same time it feels fairly light. It still feels light when loaded, just more solid than most.

The interior is fairly basic, though notably spacious. It does have a somewhat 'plasticky' feel but that can be a big plus when dealing with particularly messy loadsno one will be worried about getting this interior covered in mud. The driving position is excellent and visibility is good.

Out on the motorway the road noise level is fairly high, though not annoyingly so. We did not really make the Iveco's engine work hard until the hill climb -which it passed with flying colours. With no gear changes needed it flew up the hill in 35.5 secondsalmost five seconds quicker than most of its competitors.

The gearbox is smooth and the ratios are suitable for a range of driving situations, as proven by our hill climb.

Like many of the other vehicles on test the Daily is fitted with an I ngimex body and tipping gear which completed the tip in 19.8 seconds. As with the others it was straightforward to use, with the activation switch below the body on the passenger side, and the up-down buttons on the in-cab remote control.

The Iveco Daily is an out and out workhorse. Its interior is simple and spacious and it has bags of power. It doesn't offer the most comfortable working environment in this group and has no single overriding virtue, but it does the hard work that bit quicker -and you won't worry about hosing down your boots before driving.
