Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LAST Sunday, a bridge over a railway at Ardrossan, Ayrshire, collapsed under the weight of a tractor and trailer hauling the bedplate and part of the crankshaft of a marine engine. The road outfit weighed 85 tons gross. Nobody was hurt.

The load was on its way to Glasgow from Greenock. One end of the trailer fell 20 ft. on to the railway lines, whilst the other protruded above road level. A bus service was run while the railway line was being cleared.
