THE high taxatiou of fuel may in future be subject to "considerable readjustment." This was one of the factors influencing Manchester Transport Committee's decision, taken last week, not to operate trolleybuses over existing motorbus routes. It was thought that the recovery of the cost of the overhead equipment would he so prolonged as to make the change uneconomic, but it was agreed to spend over £300,000 on renewing old trolleybuses.
