A DEVON HOTEL FOR COACH PARTIES.

Preparation of a New Hotel which will Daily Accommodate the Passengers of Four Motor Coaches.

WITH the development of tOuring mothr coach the need for hotels in places that are of scenic or historic interest and which are likely to be stopping Places for the night is becoming more and more marked. There is. of course, a fair number of hotels in such places but accommodation thereat is mat always available for a large number of visitors who are only stopping for one night, and the obvious development is towards the establishment of hotels which particularly cater for motor coach touring parties.

Au hotel of this type is being built on the front at Paignton, overlooking Torbay, which will accommodate the parties of four motor coaches each day. It is known as the Adelphi Hotel, the full address being Paignton, Devon, and it is run by Mr. W. Purkis, the sole proprietor, who also Owns the Palm Court Hotel at Torquay. Should there be a call on any occasion for more accommodation rooms will also be available at

the latter hotel. .

The Adelphi Hotel will be rim on first-class lines because, of course, the development is more and more towards the use of the motor coach by the better class of traveller. It will be fitted pp in the most Up-to-date ,manner with running water in all the bedrooms; it will have a Tudor dining hall with an orchestral platform, and a lounge which overlooks both the sea and the lawn. An office will be established to afford full information with regard to motorcoach tours and touring, and it is in tended that visitors there shall be 'able to book anywhere to which they may desire to go. It will, therefore, be a thorough house of call for the touring motor coach.

It is being built in the Tudor halftimbered style, and attached to it will be a garage which will be suitable for the latest types of motor coach, and there will be ample accommodation for drivers and conductors and facilities for them, including bathrooms, etc., so that the hotel will have many unique features intended to commend themselves to the touring traveller and his entourage.

The knowledge that this hotel is now being built and will shortly be ready for the season's trade will be of interest to many motor-coach owners.
