N Green Line town-to-town express
NEW Green Line express route, linking twelve major towns to the west, north east of London, in a wide, fast, crosstry sweep between High Wycombe and ford, will be introduced on July 10.
le new service—route 724—will bring le-man operation for the first time on 3reen Line services and will run hourly days a week. Coaches will be luled to cover the 70-mile route in direction in three hours, making termediate stops.
Le peripheral route will run between Wycombe, Amersham, Rickmans1, Watford, St. Albans, Hatfield, iyn Garden City, Hertford, Ware, Harlow, Epping and Romford. It will not only give fast, town-to-town cross-country journeys, but also provide links at a number of points with Green Line radial routes to and from the centre of London, with British Rail Services and long-distance coach services to many parts of Britain.
Seven single-deck Green Line coaches, specially converted for one-man operation, will be used for the new service—four operated by Romford (London Road) garage and three by High Wycombe. The drivers will take the fares, give change where necessary, and issue tickets to passengers as they board,
