Any individual orcompany may enter the competition and submit proper working drawings, and, if possible, a prototype. A cash prize. will be awarded to the winner, but it is considered that the main benefit will be the right to market the device, which would have the committee's approval and recommendation to all vehicle operators.

Entry forms may be obtained from Mr. P. T. Franklin, 146 New Bond Street, London, .W.1. Closing date for the competition is December '31, '1960.

The specification below is intended for general guidance only, say the corn. mittee.

A. -The device should, if possible: (1) be applicable to 'both diesel-engined and petrol-engined vehicles; (2) prevent a vehicle being either driVen or towed away; (3) automatically come into Onefation when the driver leaves the vehicle; (4) he inaccessible to a potential thief, and invulnerable even if he knows how it works; (sr he non-electric in its operation; (6) be capable of mass production at a „reasonable Mice: (7) not be dangerous to the driver, or any other person; (8) Incorporate awarning device; (9) have a lock (combination or key) of high quality, with the key (if hued) of a restricted " registered" design.
