Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Perhaps the most. interesting exhibit on this stand is the single-cylinder oil-driven roller. This is designed to he run on crude oil, and ignition is by hot-bulb, which is heated, in the first place, by a starting lamp burning ordinary lamp oil. The compressed air which is used for starting purposes is provided by alWo-stage compressor, which is embodied in

the design. The reservoir for this air takes the form of a large steel container. Pedal-controlled clutches-are provided, operated from the driver's cabin, to give forward and reverse motion to the roller.

Another interesting exhibit on this stand is the quick reverse steam roller. As this machine, however, was shown, and described by us last year, it need only be noted now, by way of a reminder, that it embodies a vertical steam generator, and a twin horizontal mounted quite low down on the near side of the chassis. The normal weight of this roller is 5 tons. Provision is made, however, for this to be increased in two ways: by loading up a platform provided at the rear, or by pouring water ballast into the rollers. Two ordinary road rollers are shown one a 10-Loaner, for an Edinburgh client, the other an 8-tonner. The former is equipped with patent spring scarifier.
