boost to 600hp when it introduces its Euro-4 engine lineup in 2005.
Changes to the engine, which include the introduction of a new selective catalytic reduction system to clean up emissions, allows Mercedes to optimise the engine for performance and economy. All V6 and VS engines will receive a 20hp increase in power and a 50Nm torque hike.
The current top rating for the V8engined Actros is 580hp — the additional power will help the big Mere join an exclus of 600hp-plus road-going currently populated b! Volvo and MAN. The SIM Mercedes will also be boo a top rating of 480hp.
