• The Western Welsh Omnibus Company gave a warning on Christmas Eve that more rural area services may be cut (CMDecember 25). On January 12 1971, 14 of the company's services in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire are to be discontinued and the depots at Fishguard and St David's will close. Six of the 28 drivers who will become redundant are considering setting up their own company in Carmarthen.
