Intending, Exhibitors of Commercial Motors and Allied Supplies have Less than Two Weeks in which to Complete their Arrangements.

Interesting and Representative Display Assured.

The second North of England Show, which is in reality the only motoring exhibition to be held consecutively for 16 years, will open on the 16th inst. It will continue the centre of commercial interest, until the evening of the following Saturday week.

The official list of exhibitors in the commercial-vehicle section contains the names of 18 makers and agents, whilst the accessory and tire section contains some 30 odd additional names with which readers of THE COMMERCIAL MOTOR are concerned for their supplies of wheels, tires, accessories, components and stores.

A fortnight hence, at the Midland Hotel, Manchester, show proceedings will begin with a dinner held under the auspices of the East Lancashire and Cheshire Section of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, and the arrangements for this function are already well advanced in the capable hands of Mr. Ellis Green, C. A., the secretary of the section.

As announced elsewhere in this issue, it is our intention to devote considerable space in our issues of the 15th and 22nd inst. to the exhibits, by way of forecast and description respectively, whilst the same issues will contain various articles of special interest to Lancashire and Yorkshire people. We, therefore, now only make brief references to the intentions of the principal exhibitors. We are in some cases indebted to them for telegraphic advices.

White.

The White Co., Ltd., of Carlow Street., Camden Town, NAV., intends to exhibit a 1500 lb. deliverywagon chassis, a 1k-ton truck chassis, and a three-ton truck chassis. It is interesting to note that a big London user has ordered eight of the 1500 lb. model, and six of the 1A-ton model. The chassis of these steelier models have wormdriven back axles ; the three-ton model has a side-chain drive. The engines are identical throughout, so that, any buyer of two or more models can change a man from one to the other without occasion for new instruction, whilst the necessary stock of spare parts is obviously reduced.

Accessories and Supplies.

The growing importance of the commercial motor to the accessory, component, tire and wheel sections, all of which may be grouped under the generic words " The Supply Department," is proved by the unprecedented share of the space at their disposal which ex

t clearly mean to devote to

the display of goods which are suitable for use by owners of motorvans and other utility vehicles.

Tire exhibits, as might be expected, will be on a large scale, and we anticipate the usual convincing and interesting collections upon the stands of the following tire houses : J. W. and T. Connolly, Ltd. ; Continental Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd. ; Dook Swain Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd. ; Dunlop Pneumatic Tyre Co,, Ltd. ; C. Mackintosh and Co., Ltd. ; Peter Union Tyre Co. ; Polack Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd. ; Shrewsbury and Challiner Tyre Co., Ltd., and Wood-Milne, Ltd.

In the tire section, additionally, we anticipate evidence of growing interest in commercial motoring on the part of certain makers who have hitherto been content to take hut a passing interest in cabs as consumers of pneumatic tires, but who now realize that tradesmen's vans and tri-cars are becoming of increasing importance to them. We would mention, in this connection, the following: Atlas NonPuncture Inner Case Syndicate, Ltd. ; D. Moseley and Sons, Ltd. ; New Motor and General Rubber Co., Ltd. ; G. Spencer Moulton and Co., Ltd.

Amongst wheel makers we find that, apart from some of the above-mentioned tire makers who are also' experts in this branch of the trade. the undernoted companies will be putting forward examples of their manufacture : Crawford's Coach, Van and Motor Builders, Ltd ; Goodyear Motor Wheel Co. ; Stepney Spare Motor Wheel, Ltd. ; and the Warland Dust Rim Co., Ltd.

Other "Supply Department exhibitors, whose reputations in their respective branches will be well known to many readers of this brief initial forecast, include the following: Acetylene Illuminating Co., Ltd. ; Anglo-American Oil Co., Ltd. ; W. H. Bailey and Co., Ltd. ; C. Binks, Ltd. ; Brampton Bros., Ltd. ; Brown Bros., Ltd. ; Car and General Insurance
