4ICHEL IN'S UK managing irector Chris Blom is calling for ruck tyres to be given an eco raw based on their efficiency, in the same way that white goods are given a rating to help inform consumers about their power use.
-We've started lobbying at a European level," says Biotin "We're calling for a standardised European grading system, based on the rolling resistance of the tyre. We're already marking tyres with a load and speed index: I feel that a fuelefficiency rating would be an important step for operators to see what they're getting from their tyres. Morn Michelin XUE2 Remix tyres are taken from the drive axles of CS Ellis artics and sent hack to Michelin's Stoke plant for remoulding into Encore tyres.
These are then fitted to the drive axles of the firm's rigids.
