TD120G-engined Rolba R1000 snow blowers to its national fleet of snow clearing vehicles.
The blowers, which can shift up to 1,000 tonnes/hour, will cover the M1 north of Scratchwood and the M62. They will complement two R1000's based in the Scottish Highlands and the north of England, and 21 smaller (800 tonne/hour) R400 blowers distributed nationwide.
Rolba is developing a detachable, two-stage snow blower with an 800 tonne/hour capacity which will cost about 225,000 and weighs some 1,500kg. A prototype is about to begin evaluation trials.
