A WORKING conference is to be held next year to search for ways to counter violence on transport.

The decision to hold this meeting followed consultations between the Home Secretary, the Transport Minister, and the chairman of the London Transport Executive. Earlier the Ministers met representatives of the London Transport staff unions.

Announcing the conference in the Commons, Mr Fowler said that representatives of the various organisations concerned would be able to meet to exchange experiences and develop possible solutions.
