Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Piston, Depreciation

It is difficult to remember that only 12 years ago a Seddon 1 3:Four lorry with Perkins 6.354 engine could be bought for £2,800. That investment was made by Dennis Halsall, an owner-driver, of Clayton Street, Skelmersdale, Lanes, and he is still drawing dividends from it after 550,000 miles.

The engine was rebored, with new pistons and rings, at 270,000 miles in 1 972 and a piston was replaced five years later. Otherwise it has undergone only routine maintenance and is said to have averaged about 13 mpg over its life.

Replacing the lorry at today's prices is going to be quite a problem unless Dennis has assiduously built up a depreciation fund.
