Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A POWER-OPERATED TOOL which, it is claimed, makes short work of breaking the beads of the largest sizes of truck tyres is now available from Apaseal Ltd. Known as the Fejo, the tool is air powered. Instead of being pushed, the bead is hammered off the rim, so that there is no damage to the beads or tyre walls.

The Fejo tool consists of a powerful double-acting pneumatic cylinder and ram with various attachments to grip the rim of the wheel. An air supply of 125 p.s.i. is required. To use, the mounting frame is fitted to the wheel disc with the removal bit located between the bead and rim.

Pressure on to the bead is exerted by moving a control lever and after the first break is made, a self-locking adjustable wedge from a set of six provided is inserted. The tool is then swivelled farther round the tyre and the operation repeated until the bead is broken all round. The tool can then be used in a similar way to remove the tyre completely from the wheel.

Another attachment provided in the Fejo outfit allows the tool to be used as a tyre spreader for examination of the inside of the tyre.
