Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Panic Link parcels boss Eric Norman has been jailed for a year for causing death by reckless driving after killing a former policewoman in a car crash.

Norman was on the wrong side of the road and driving too fast when his Mercedes hit Doreen Braiisford's car on a bend on the A587 near Coalville, Leics. The retired police inspector died almost instantly, Leicester Crown Court heard.

Norman was picked up by an employee, Paul Mann, and driven from the scene before emergency services arrived.

After a six-day trial, Norman was convicted by a jury of causing death by reckless driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice after the crash in June last year.

Judge Richard Pollard told Norman: "You drove too fast and you cut that corner. Round it you went, recklessly and on the wrong side of the road.

"I'm satisfied from the evidence that you had been drinking enough to make you worry about a breathalyser," he said. "You gave not a thought to the injuires you inflicted on an innocent driver."

During the trial Geoffrey Solomons prosecuting, said Norman had been drinking at a pub with his wife and some Panic Link employees just hours before the crash.

"This accident was caused by the aggressive and reckless way in which Norman drove his car," said Solomons.

The court heard how Norman sat injured in his Mercedes after hitting Brailsford's car head-on when he was spotted by Panic Link driver Paul Mann.

Mann, of Winshill, Burton, was cleared of a charge of intending to pervert the course of justice.
