Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

i Two models of lightweight multi-axle arni-trailers with single tyres on offset 'heels, interchangeable with those on tracve units, have been added to the Advance Inge of trailers made at the Primrose Third xle Co. Ltd., Ewood, Blackburn, Lancs.

One of the new models is a light tandem 3signed for operation at 26 tons g.t.w. The her is a light tri-axle for 32 tons g.t.w. with ilf-tracking wheels on the third axle.

Both models use Primrose 6-ton axles with 'akes of 15in. diameter by 7in. width. They .e wedge-type sealed units with direct-acting )uble air chambers.

For operating as a matched trailer with MC Mastiff 26-ton tractive units the tanam-axle trailer is available with Mastiff hubs -id brakes, which are 15;in. by 6in. and im-expanded. The design affords both a ide track and a wide spring base (43in.). Drsional strength of the wide frame is creased by the use of On. diameter tubular 'oss-members, double-welded through endates picking up the bottom flange, as all as the web of each fabricated I-beam le-members.

Fitted with standard hubs, the single-tyred imrose axle track is 91in. With BMC hubs e track is 84in.

For operators not wanting dished wheels, option of centre-nave wheels on a Rubery wen 9-ton axle with 15!in. by 6in. cam akes is offered. This gives a track of 79in. 'ith centre-nave wheels tubed D2OX ichelin tyres are mandatory. The standard res for the other axles with dished wheels e tubeless 10.00-22.5 Michelin X.

Both models of trailer have Rubery Owen ihtweight M-series suspension with dius-rod location of the axles. They are fitted > standard with two-speed Intertruck landing-legs. The side raves are of 7in. by 2in. by kin, pressed-steel which provides a 1÷in. deep chock rail around the platform. The cross-bearers are rolled-steel I-beams, 4in. deep by 1 kin. wide, threaded through the side-members at 28in. pitch, Closer spacings, down to 12in. are available to special order.

The 26-ton tandem is available in lengths from 22ft to 40ft. Up to 33ft length, the side-members are 16in. deep: above that length they are I8in. deep. A typical weight for an unboarded 30ft lightweight tandem is only 2 tons 18cwt.

The tri-axle model weighs approximately 3 tons 18cwt in unboarded form. Its sidemembers are 18in. deep. As with the tandem, the webs are lin. thick and the flanges are +in. thick, 4in. wide. Lengths of from 28ft to 4011 are available.

These new models are in a price range from £950. for the tandem to £1,500 for the triaxle including a self-tracking third axle.
