Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Mr. Marsh has given the go ahead for designing principal road construction and improvement schemes for the West Midland Conurbation totalling £24m.

This is the first instalment of schemes in the Preparation List in the conurbation.

The largest of the 12 schemes announced by the Transport Minister is a f1 2.7m. Expressway to be built from Birmingham's Middle Inner Ring Road to the Swan underpass.

Wolverhampton's Inner Ring Road is to be extended from Broad Street to Cleveland Street at a cost of £4-m. and the Lichfield Road (A461) at Walsall is to be improved from Mellish Road to the borough boundary.

Other schemes include improvements at Marley, West Bromwich, Dudley, Solihull, Halesowen and Stourbridge.
