Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

GLOVER Webb and Liversidge, Ltd, municipal vehicle manufacturer of Hamble in Hampshire, has announced the introduction of the 202 refuse collector, with its simple compactor mechanism.

It is claimed that the more straightforward valve gear omitting the need for hydraulic ram seals will prolong the equipment's reliable working life.

Its construction is similar to the Grenadier units, but with the rotation of the packer plates being driven directly by a Swedish built hydraulic motor producing up to 40hp, and protected against the dust from the loading hopper.

The hydraulic system is driven continuously by a nose-mounted engine pump, taken off the front of the crankshaft. It is claimed to be quieter than equivalent packer mechanisms.

At first the 202 is being offered at 18 and 21cuyd (13.8 and 16.2cum) intended for 13 and 16-ton gvw.

For the first time, Glover Webb is using a lighter allwelded zinc-coated steel body construction, which offsets any extra weight involved in the compactor mechanism.
