THE sitting of the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners which was to have been held in Scarborough last week to discuss the coach park problem at the resort, was cancelled.
Objections to the proposal of the Town Council to close the Valley Road coach park and re-route coaches to the William Street of Burniston Road parks were to have been heard by the Comniissioners, but since the hearing was fixed the Finance Committee of the Town Council recommended that the Valley Road park should remain open and that the William Street•park should be closed.
GLASS-FIBRE BUS BODY
AN experiment in the use of glass-fibre which may have far-reaching effects on future bus body construction is being carried out by . the Tilling Group at the Lowestoft factory of Eastern Coach Works, Ltd. The body hull, with the exception. of the floor and entrance Steps, of a new single-deck bus, has been manufactured entirely from polyester resin-bonded glass-fibre.
