Only a relatively small number of orders for motor vehicles and allied . materials was given out by Government departments during February. The Admiralty ordered electric tractors from Greenwood and Batley, Ltd. An order for motor trucks was placed by the War Office with Morris-Commercial Cars, Ltd. The Air Ministry gave orders for ambulance bodies to Metropolitan-Cammell Weymann, Ltd., one for platform bodies for trailer chassis to the Vulcan Motor and Engineering Co., Ltd.. and one for stores bodies, also for trailer chassis, to British Pressed Panels, Ltd.

The G.P.O. gave out orders for bodywork to Cross and Ellis, Ltd., MorrisCommercial Cars, Ltd„ and Reeve and Kenning, Ltd. The Crown Agents for the Colonies also placed contracts for motor vehicles with the Austin, Leyland and Thornycroft concerns and with Morris Industries Exports. Ltd.

Wakefield patent Castrol has been introduced in a" new form. It is much more fluid at low temperatures, and yet embodies. corrosion and oxidizing inhibiters of even greater efficiency than formerly. Light oil presents many advantages, including easier starting, immediate lubrication and reduced frictional losses in the engine, the unit warms up more uniformly and heat is carried away more rapidly from the bearing surfaces.

Garage Equipment Displays.

Brown Brothers, Ltd., Great Eastern Street, London, E.C.2, is holding a display of garage equipment at its tyrefitting depot at 43, Jamaica Street, Liverpool, from April 4-8. Amongst other apparatus will be shown air compressors, greasing equipment, boring bars, vehicle washers, breakdown equipment, and a number of electrical-testing appliances.

During the same period, a garage and servicing display will be held by the company at its Grace Street premises, at Leeds, when equipment of Barris, B.E.N., British Oxygen, Churchill, Crypton, Dunlop, Epco, Laycoek. Tecalemit and Weaver makes will be demonstrated.
