• Police are appealing tor witnesses after a Slovenian truck driver jumped from his moving vehicle—he had been tied up by hackers who stole his load of TVs.

The incident happened on 8 September at about 04:00hrs. The driver was asleep at the Enterprise Park in Colborne. Manchesten when there was a knock on his cab window. On opening the door he was attacked by a man who overpowered him and then bound his hands and feet.

The truck, belonging to Slovenian firm Intereuropa, was then driven off along the East Lancashire Road towards Liverpool. As it travelled through the Haydock area the driver managed to loosen his restraints

and jump from the truck. He sustained leg and arm injuries. The truck, minus its load, was later found on fire in Ormskirk.

Sergeant Dean Fraser from Leigh CID says: "This was a particularly terrifying attack on a lone driven He has been left very shaken by the incident and is fortunate that his injuries were not more serious."
