Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Ardrox 3961, a water displacing and corrosion preventive fluid introduced by Ardrox, is the first all-British material in this category to receive full Ministry of Technology approval (to DTD. 900/4942). It is also being marketed under the brand name of Shield through retail outlets, for which the material'is packaged in aerosols.

Due to its ability to displace water, Ardrox 3961 restores full insulation resistance to electrical. components that have been shortcircuited by moisture, and deposits a water-proofing coating on the treated surfaces. For example, a car ignition system that has been completely saturated will start and run normally after a single application of 3961.

The new material is effective on all ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys—even including copper, which is damaged by many chemical preparations. It is therefore particularly suitable for use on delicate electrical and electronic apparatus.

Ardrox 3961 is able to penetrate rapidly into mechanical joints and the internal parts of complex mechanisms. ft can therefore be used to free seized or rusted assemblies, prevent electrolytic action in bi-metal contacts, and to leave an invisible protective film which provides efficient light lubrication and prevents any possibility of further corrosion.

Functions in addition to drying out damp ignition systems include the protection from corrosion of battery terminals, electrical connections and chromium plate; the prevention of rust at pinholes, joints and areas of minor damage such as occurs at the fronts of cars where paint is chipped by flying stones: and the lubrication of hinges, cables, linkages, radio aerials and door locks—for which 3961 is also an effective anti-freeze.

Ardrox is available in 1 and 5 gallon cans, and as Shield in 7oz and 13oz aerosols.
