• Scania will pull out of truck racing at the end of this year's season when its contract with RH Racing Team ends. "The engineering benefits we can reap from participating in truck racing are not justified by the considerable costs involved," the company says.

• Scania may establish a new plant in the UK, Holland, Spain or Italy, following the introduction of its three-year 295 million programme to increase truck output capacity by 50% worldwide.
