GREATER Manchester Transport has backed down from a licensing battle over plans by a minibus operator, Citibus Tours, to run three stage services in Greater Manchester.
GMT and three local authorities have withdrawn all their objections unconditionally.
Citibus sought the North Western Traffic Commissioners' authority to operate two circular services linking Oldham and railway stations in Manchester.
It proposed to operate four journeys per day on each service Mondays to Saturdays. with one journey over each route on Sunday.
There were to be no set picking up or putting down points, as passengers would board and alight at any point on the two routes, provided n was sale to do so and sufficient notice had been given to the driver, I Etc third service proposed an hourly service for prebooked passengers between Oldham and Manchester Airport.
It would rise to two at peaks subject to demand.
GMT, Manchester City Council, Salford City Council and Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council initially opposed on the grounds of possible damage to the existing stage services.
