Traversing one of Portugal's land border crossings can be quite a hassle for drivers, despite the reduction of border controls since 1992. Marco Duarte complains that border officers are sometimes too tough when he is just delivering loads to Spanish towns near the Portuguese border.
"What's the point in stopping me when 4 am only a short distance from my destination?" Duarte asks.
His story is greeted with nods of approval by his fellow truckers gathered at a truckstop.
